Support with needle phobia1

If you are afraid or worried about needles, there are a few things you can do to help overcome your fear:

Tell the doctor or nurse who is giving you Tzield
They can answer your questions and chat to you during the infusion to distract you.

Learn an applied tension technique
If your fear is linked to fainting, or feeling faint, you can learn an applied tension technique.

Learn a breathing for relaxation exercise
If you feel panicky but not faint, you can learn a breathing for relaxation exercise.

Learn more about applied tension techniques and breathing for relaxation exercises on the NHS website here.

Tzield is a medicine used to delay the start of Stage 3 Type 1 diabetes. This condition happens when the body cannot make enough insulin on its own and may need insulin injections. This medicine is used in adults and children aged 8 years and older who have Stage 2 Type 1 diabetes.2

If you have any questions on how Tzield works or about your treatment with Tzield, ask your doctor.
